Friday, July 3rd, HURRICANE, CALIFORNIA, MAGGIE

Today we were able to get all the way across Hurricane & California!  After a hearty breakfast at the Brown Bear, four Jeeps headed out Gladstone to make our way across Hurricane.  Sig, Denny, Hank, Brett, Alexis, Sy, Wayne, Beverly, Sue, Herb, Jim & I made up the group.  This morning it was quite cool; well it was downright cold!  Out came the sweaters & scarves.

Passing mines along Cement Creek in the Gladstone area:
Finally, on the trail to Hurricane Pass:

Still a fair amount of snow on Hurricane & California Passes.
Great way to celebrate the 4th of July Eve:
 Lake Como still frozen.
Some of that pretty blue water peeking thru:

On the way home, we did a side-trip to Maggie Gulch.
We were hoping to go back to the area where we lost a floormat in the snowdrift.
Snowdrift was melted, but someone had already found our mat.
Sig & Alexis:
 Hank, doing his "Happy Dance":
Sig, Kathy, & Alexis:

 Sy, exploring:

 Brrrrrr:
Hank wants this stick baaaaad & Jim keeps teasing him:
Ha, now he's got it and he kept running circles around Jim:

Someone threw it into the creek, but good ole Hank found it again:

Hate it when we have to share the road!
It WAS really crowded today.
Probably our last trail ride until all the 4th of July celebrators leave.
