Fri, Sat, Sun Sept 4-6 RAINY LABOR DAY

I think I can honestly say summer is over in Silverton.  Definite feel of fall and approaching winter in the air.  Maybe it's partly because of the rain.  Feeling sorry for all the campers that came in just for the end of summer weekend.

Looking out the windshield at the narrow-gauge bringing in all the tourists from Durango,

and being thankful that I am not riding in one of the open cars:

There were quite a few of them here this weekend.

I understand that the thermals off Kendall Mtn can be a little dangerous,

but make for a good "ride."
